Exploding Box Card

This one was so much fun, was made as a surprise for a fellow Crazy Crafter as a gift!
Michelle let me know when she received it and fell in love with it...Now the team are into making their own....It's wonderful to share with others the love of crafting!

I hope you all like this one!

Outside is done by masking off the area you don't want colour with painters tape (which I make sure I have plenty of as I love masking). Sponge different colours then stamp over top.
Remove tape an voila!!

Birthday Box card made for one of my work mates daughter.
These are so much fun to make and I find it relaxing.

These are becoming very popular!

This one I had to have 4 little envelopes on the base so the siblings could write a little note for birthday girl, how cute is that.

We hope you enjoy our virtual hop where you will either learn great techniques for your paper crafting projects or just a chance to enjoy each of the ladies lovely creations!

You should have just left stop number 3 on the Crazy Crafters Hop -

If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

My project for the hop is:

"Explosive"

These are my favourite three colours!

My faves are Basic Black, Melon Mambo & Bermuda Bay.

I absolutely love making these Exploding Box Cards!

For this card you will need 1 piece of 12 x 12 Basic Black Card Stock #124267
Score at 4 in on all four sides, then cut a triangle out from corner to corner, discard these pieces for later. Score down the middle of the triangle.

Using some painter's tape or masking tape and some scrap paper cover the centre as shown.
I then used stamp set Flowering Flourishes (#131998 Wood #126367 Clear Mount) with Versa Mark #102283 and Clear Embossing Powder #109130 and heat set
Remove painters tape and you will reveal the triangles embossed.

You will then need 5 pieces of 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 inch of Melon Mambo Card Stock #119980
Also 5 pieces of 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch Bermuda Bay Card Stock #131286

Emboss Bermuda Bay C/S with Black Embossing power in your favourite stamp, I used the flourish out of Creative Elements #122647 C/M or #128523 W/M

Adhere all pieces together as in picture leaving the middle section out for later.

Emboss and punch out 2 different size Butterflies, using small strips of Acetate, fold one end over enough to adhere a butterfly to it.
On the base of the middle card stock that you would have stuck together prior, position and mark with pencil where you will place each one.
Using a scalpel or knife on the pencil mark make a straight cut long enough to fit the end of acetate through, turn over and fold a bit of the acetate and a fix with a glue dot.
Repeat till you have placed all.
Place a flower in the middle and stamp sentiment and place at bottom.

The base of you card will look like picture below, don't you just love the waving butterflies!

Now for the lid!

You will need a piece of 6 x 6 inch Basic Black card stock, score 1 inch in on all four sides.
Make one cut on each corner on the score line to meet up with other score line, to create a tab to fold under and adhere.
Also needed a piece of Melon Mambo C/S cut at 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch and Bermuda Bay C/S cut at 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch.
Emboss the Bermuda Bay C/S in black and adhere to the Melon Mambo C/S
Decorate the rest as you wish, I used the sentiment from
Perfectly Penned #128703 wood mount or #122892 clear mount
and embossed butterflies from the Stamp set
Papillon Potpourri #132058 wood mount or #123759 clear mount

With the ribbon trim around the edges of lid I used Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon #109070
Colouring it with a sponge using the ink pad refills to match box colour.

Line up ribbon close together and carefully stamp image using StazOn Black.
Using sticky Strap adhere ribbon around the edge of the lid making sure images stay lined up.
Clear emboss a butterfly and using a glue dot adhere to lid so as to cover up where seems meet.

If you require any more information contact me and I can email you the tutorial.

Now you are done!

Enjoy!

Gift Box & Cards

Gift Box & 6 cards / Envelopes
Using the Envelope punch Board

Isn't this awesome!

I love the new Envelope Punch Board, you can do so much with it.

I made 6 cards using masking, sponging technique and loved the way they turned out.

Measurements for this box are:
You will need a 10 x 10 inch piece of card stock.
First score will be at 4 inch then punch
Second score at 5 inch then punch
Continue on using the score guide on the other 3 sides.
Cut on inner score line on all four sides to create tabs to tuck in.
I clear embossed box before sticking together.

Using some painter's tape or masking tape and some scrap paper cover off the edges that you want to keep white.
Sponge random colours.
I have double stamped images using lighter colour then darker colour.
Remove painters tape and you will reveal center.

Add sentiment and embellishments and you are done

Lovely Romance

I Think You Are Amazing

My daughter in law called and asked me to make a card for her Aunt,
didn't want one that say's "Get Well" or "Thinking Of You"
So I came up with this one

Turned out really nice!

I used Very Vanilla as the base with a layer of Embossed Crumb Cake in Elegant Lines.

Using a piece of Whisper White card stock run through the bigshot using the medium Doily die from the  Delicate Doilies Sizzlits, trim down and sponged the edges in Crumb Cake,
adhered to one edge of card.

Run a strip of 5/8' Crotchet Trim along edge of card. Add embellishments.

Stamp image from the Lovely Romance Stamp Set
#130264 wood mount or #130267 clear mount
Die cut using the Chalk Talk set #129983

Enjoy!

Vintage card SU

Hello!

Well after making the card for the blog hop, I was inspired to make more of the vintage cards.
This is another I came up with.
Still not sure about adding any extra details, it seems to make it look busy.

Finished card!

First choose your DSP or stamped background paper you want to use in layers.
Tear paper to a size you want, distress the edges and sponge in colour of choice.

To make the flowers you will punch 3 x small scallop out of the Itty Bitty shapes Punch Pack # 118309 for the small flowers. Large flower use 3 x 7/8 scallops from punch #129404
Sponge the edges of all scallops, secure the 3 scallops in each size with a brad.
With the small flower squish up the edges to look rough.
With the larger flower use scissors to cut in toward centre all the way around.
When done ruffle the edges a little.

Cut out largest doily using the Delicate Doilies Sizzlets L* # 126999 by running
 through the Bigshot #113439
The pinwheel is a length of cardstock 8 inch  long x 3/4 inch wide, score every
1/8th of an inch all away long, fold in accordion style.
Secure with a hot glue gun onto a small punched circle and add a button or other embellishment on top.

Arrange your card they way you want it to look and add any other embellishments you wish.

I hope you all like the card!

My project for the hop is:

"Feels Good"

This is my favourite stamp set!

I absolutely love making these cards, I can't resist anything vintage or country!

This card was made with the Stampin' Up!
Feels Good Stamp set #129684
Gorgeous Grunge stamp set # 130517
Card Stock: Naturals White #129588
Soft Suede #119982
Sahara Sand #121695
Designer Series Paper: Afternoon Picnic #131390
Ink Pads: Soft Suede #126978
5/8 Crochet Trim #118481

Punch out 3 x 1 1/4 Scallop circles #119854,
and 1 x scallop from the Itty Bitty Punch pack #118309, sponge edges on all scallops. Secure together with a brad, this will make 1 medium flower.

Then punch out 3 x 7/8 Scallop circles #129404 and 1 x scallop from the Itty Bitty Punch pack #118309. Sponge edges of all scallops, secure together with a brad.

Crumple the centre scallops, then with scissors make cuts all the way around to centre to get a featuring look. Ruffle edges a little to lift layers.

Tear a big enough piece of card stock to stamp your image on and sponge around the edge. Stamp your sentiment in the middle then stamp around the outside of piece with the small dots of your Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.
Crumple the torn piece to give it a worn look then straighten a little. Place dimensional's under areas you want raised to stand out on the card.

Arrange your card as you wish or as pictured.
Enjoy!
